Making of Kiswa (the black cloth covering Ka’abah)
The Ka’abah (the House of ALLAH) in Makkah is covered by a black cloth known as ‘Kiswa’, which is manufactured and changed every year. There is a special factory in Saudi Arabia that is dedicated to make Kiswa. It costs approximately SAR 17 million (4.5 million USD). The cloth is made of 670 kgs (1477.09 pounds) of silver dyed in black, about 120 kgs (264.5 pounds) of pure gold & 50 kgs (110.23 pounds) of silver used in writing the Qur’anic verses over the cloth. The total area of the cloth is 658 sqr meter.
Here are some pictures of how they make Kiswa.

Umar Faruk
It seems a very small thing as we look the Kiswa but the makers know how they feel while doing it. My salutation to all the Muslim Brothers and the makers of Kiswa. Allah Hafiz
